It was just a smart choice for a momentary pause in Clitheroe with very good value for money. The food was excellent, especially the Sunday lunch with the best cooked beef I've ever tasted. Make sure to try the local ales by the log fire.

We had a lovely stay at the inn, surrounded by stunning views of mountains and a meandering river. Our room was spacious and equipped with great amenities, making it very comfortable for our family with a young child. The food was also fantastic, especially the wholesome lunch and dinner that we enjoyed together.
My wife says that a kids' play area would be great in this lovely spot.

beautiful riverside location, individual room themes, exceptional food quality
The noise from the road outside was disruptive at night!!! Room temperature controls need attention, it was too cold upon arrival and difficult to regulate thereafter. A few more vegetarian options during events would be welcomed!!!

Charming, Charming, Charming
My room had a delightful view of the River Ribble, which added such a peaceful vibe to my stay! Breakfast was a treat with a wide variety from hearty English to fresh fruit options. The attentive staff made every meal feel special, especially during the live jazz sessions that really brought the pub to life!
would recommend 🥰✨

Fantastic food and service!
This place has such a cozy vibe! Super friendly staff really made us feel at home. The food was delish, especially the evening meal, and a special shoutout to the team for handling a medical issue with grace. Only wish the packed lunch option was a bit more varied. Can't wait to come back!

The Deluxe Double Room with River View offered stunning scenic beauty, making it perfect for relaxing after a day of adventuring. The cozy ambiance with charming beams and flagstone floors added character to the stay.
Upon arrival, an 'emergency' in the kitchen meant no dinner service, leaving us scrambling for alternatives after a long drive. the 'Sawley Breakfast' lacked variety, definitely not a full English, and the £10 nightly charge for our dog felt excessive, making longer stays less appealing.
